Piazza San Michele in Lucca, Italy

(Catheral San Michele)

This particular piazza located in Lucca, Italy is where my daughter spent every morning with her Papa feeding the birds. The San Michele catheral holds a triumphant statue of St. Michael the Archangel. On the backside there are stairs located where once church officals would climb and pull the strings attached to the wings of St. Michael to make it appear as if the wings were flying.

This awesome picture was taken by Jim Doyle, my daughter's Papa.

Lucca, Italy

(View from Guinigi or tree-top Tower)

Lucca is a city in Tuscany that is surrounded by a city walls that were once used to help protect the city from invaders and rivals but are now used for pedestrian reasons. You can see bike riders, dog walkers, children playing on the swing sets, and people finding a spot to relax and read a book. This wall is 100ft thick and about 2 1/2 miles perimeter. I had the wonderful opportunity to visit this town where my daughter's grandparents took residence for about 2 years. Grazie Jim & Sheri!!! xxoo
